Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) an academic community of over 28,000 scholars worldwide, is calling for up to 2,000-word essays analyzing the special relationship between the United States and Israel. Essays submitted should convey the mutual benefits of this deep-rooted, multi-faceted relationship, based on moral values, common strategic interests and shared humanitarian visions.

The essays should be written in clear, jargon-free language for distribution among policy-makers, opinion-leaders, faculty and students across all academic disciplines. A title page should include the title of the essay and the author’s or authors’ name, address, academic affiliation (if any), email address, and daytime and evening telephone numbers. Source citations and bibliography should be included.

Deadline for submission electronically is January 15, 2010. Essays will be academically reviewed by a panel of scholars with the best selected for electronic and paper publications and distribution. Essays should be sent to Dr. Sam Edelman, Executive Director, SPME, at spmeexecdir@gmail.com .
