Kathmandu – Pushpa Kamal Dahal, aka Prachanda, the former prime minister of Nepal and current leader of the United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoists (UCPN-M), met Chinese President Hu Jintao in Jinan (Shandong) on 16 October. In talks that lasted 25 minutes, the two leaders discussed Nepal’s stability, closer ties between their respective Communist parties, and support for economic growth. They also touched upon China’s role in South Asia’s economies and the global future of Communism.

"The visit was successful and the leaders talked about the Nepali peace process, unity between the Nepali and Chinese Communist parties and strengthening the relationship between the parties,” said Krishna Bahadur Mahara, head of the UCPN-M’s Foreign Affairs Department, who stressed that for China’s president strengthening Nepal’s political institutions is fundamental for stability.

The Chinese leader also expressed concern over the anti-Chinese activities by Tibetan activists in Nepal.  However, no direct reference was made to Sino-Indian friction; Beijing has accused India of stirring up protests in Nepal and interfering in its economy.

New Delhi, for its part, recently announced that in November the Dalai Lama would visit the Arunachai Pradesh, an Indian State on the border of China, which is a cause of disagreement between the two.

Ex Prime Minister Prachanda was in China from 11 to 19 October. This is his first visit as secretary general of Nepal’s Maoist party since he resigned as prime minister on 4 May, after President Ram Baran Yadav rejected his government’s decision to incorporate former Maoist rebels in the ranks of the regular army.

At present, a national unity coalition runs the government but still has close ties to Beijing. Yet tensions with former Maoist rebels remain high.

Dear editor,
I read the news- meeting the Nepalese Maoist leader Prachanda to Chinese President Hu Jintao. But, the Nepalese Maoists are getting fizzle out. Due to their opportunist activities they have lost their credibility. Actually, the Maoist leaders behaving as the agents of RAW. They are going to destroy the identity, prestige of Nepal. Now they are going to change the Nepalese national Flag. They are traitors. Since 2006 anarchy and lawlessness are ruling the roost in Nepal. Without peace and security, we can't achieve anything. Criminals are roaming freely. These criminals' gangs fear no one given the backing of the political party leaders.Due to the Maoists notrious activities, many criminals are executing serious crimes even under broad daylight. The Nepalese people are feeling that the country is in the worst situation in Nepal history. The so-called People's movement II which was guided by RAW, were two vital agendas-Republic & Secular state. History says and everybody knows the monarchy is a symbol of Nepalese unity and nationality. The culprits leaders are going to support Federal structure of the nation, which is the suicidal game. "The Delhi 12 points" agreement 2005 has been the major cause to desintrigate Nepal as well as to implfy the "Free Tibet" agenda too.

According to the advice of RAW the Maoist leaders release their speeches. Maoist leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal recently said “If there is another revolt at least one million people may lose their precious lives. We need to be very careful at this juncture, to stop the casualties. When the people revolt they obliterate everything. If the mandate of the CA election is further ridiculed we will declare war" What is that ? The Maoist wants to come to power but the dirty way.
Nepal and China share 1400 km close border. After the adoption of open-policy since 30 years ago, China's economy is booming that western society is envious. Nepal-China co-operation is the overall socio-economic development. The first is trust. The two countries never threat each other, harm each other or doubt each other, but always respect each other, believe each other and help each other. The Chinese government and people, firmly pursue the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, have never interfered with the internal affairs of Nepal and highly respect the road of development chosen by the Nepalese people.
China has consistently supported Nepal in its effort to safeguard sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
The most unfortunate fact is that majority of our political leaders Congress, UML, Maoists are Indian agents. It is worthless to expect from these leaders to save our nationality and independence. Unless traitors and corrupt leaders dominating in the big parties are chased away, democracy and nationalism will not be secured.
So, although, the meeting with Chinese president can't useful for Nepal as well as China because 'Crows are never the white for washing.
Thank you.

Sincerely yours
Dirgha Raj Prasai
Former Member of Parliament, Nepal
