CHISINAU -- The Moldovan Health Ministry says a 53-year-old woman has died of swine flu in the southern town of Ceadar-Lunga, bringing to four the number of people who have died from the H1N1 virus, RFE/RL's Moldovan Service reports.

The ministry said two other people were hospitalized with swine flu on November 10 in the capital, Chisinau, and are reportedly in "serious condition."

As of November 9, there were 384 people in Moldova suffering from swine flu.

Prime Minister Vlad Filat has announced that he would chair a special meeting on November 11 with health officials and local authorities to discuss ways to contain the disease.

Much of Moldova borders western Ukraine, where the largest outbreak of swine flu in continental Europe has occurred.
