Mexican Dioceses use Twitter for evangelization to communicate with youth

The Diocese of Queretaro, Mexico has opened its account on microblogging. There are now 10 dioceses in Mexico that use the facilitys computer network. The spokesman for the Diocese of Queretaro, Saul Ragoitia Vega, reported that this week, the Catholic Church in the state opened its Twitter account in order to communicate with the younger faithful. He noted that 10 dioceses have begun to use this system to communicate with young people and to transmit the Catholic message through all the available instruments. The Twitter account is part of the dioceses website, launched three years ago and has up to 3,500 visitors per day.
