Article Tools

Renowned investigative journalist and best-selling author Edwin Black will appear on August 31 at the Charlotte and Dick Levin Jewish Community Center in Durham, North Carolina, as part of his international book and lecture tour. His lecture is entitled  "Nazi Nexus--America's Corporate Complicity in the Holocaust" based on his award-winning bestseller Nazi Nexus--America's Corporate Connections to the Holocaust and the files of Ford, GM, Carnegie, Rockefeller, and IBM. In Naxi Nexus, and his upcoming lecture, Black recounts how IBM colluded with Adolf Hitler’s Nazi genocide regime to enumerate, identify, and control victims destined for extermination during the Holocaust.  General Motors, through its affiliates, is revealed to have been a sure ally during the build-up of the Nazi war machine, and the Second World War. These and other revelations are among the stark facts that Black brings to bear in his lecture series.  Click here to see a lecture schedule:  http://www.edwinblack.com/index.php?page=10190#norAugust2011

Esquire Magazine has called Edwin Black a “dangerous man” because of his meticulous research and authoritative sources cited in books that have challenged popular conceptions about the Holocaust, petropolitics and foreign affairs, and corporate complicity in warfare and genocide.  Black's many books have included IBM and the Holocaust, The Farhud, The Plan, and War Against the Weak .

The latter of these recounts the growth of the pseudo-science known as eugenics that was funded by corporate America and which sought to eliminate so-called ‘unfit’ people such as African-Americans, Native Americans, and the poor, through sterilization abetted by local and state governments. Black follows the connections between American eugenicists and their funders and supporters, such as Henry Ford and the Carnegie Institution, to Adolf Hitler and the logical terminus of their inhuman philosophy in the gas chambers of Auschwitz. Author Black uses exhaustive research and dynamic literary style to bring alive the testimony of the victims of pseudo-science and intolerance in our own country and abroad.

Black’s exhaustive research is coming to the fore in the national political scene where as a scholar-in-residence in North Carolina, he will address members of that state’s legislature as they deliberate over  offering compensation to victims of forced sterilization.
