Father Corapi: No looking back

Article Tools

The following preview is the preface and opening paragraph of my latest (and hopefully last) "Corapi corrupted" article, to be published in its entirety next week on Fighting Irish Thomas.

Holy Father Corapi, our patron of the falsely accused, we unite ourselves to your Passions and sufferings against the scourges of drugs, lechery, egoism and avarice and we kiss your Holy Wounds. Intercede to obtain for us power against Those With Too Many Questions who just maybe detract your Holy Name; they are homos, pervs, devils and whack jobs because right-thinking people support you without questions -- and we praise your miraculous beard: no Holy Priest may be criticized unless he is a bishop or head of an Order. We pray for your Second Coming when, riding your Heavenly Harley and Evangelical Evinrude, you ascent into our midst when your descent to Hell ends and proves for the first time, that a Failed Priest can succeed. Intercede to strike dead and cast your fruitcake lunatic critics into Hell as we await with tender eagerness your Holy Writ, "Renegade Priest"; may it anoint you with rich oil. Amen.

Dear Matt and Tamra

I want you both to know that I resigned from Santa Cruz Media around the beginning of last month, as I could not support the direction John Corapi was taking. He is leading good Catholics away from the Church and is causing them to fight and bicker amongst themselves....not to mention his personal lifestyle choices.

I spoke with [name redacted], the attorney investigator for SOLT. I was able to provide him some information, as I was constrained only by the terms of my employment contract that prevented me from disclosing business information...He...asked me to please reach out to you and let you know that it is very important that you contact him. I believe what you say, and I think he does too.

After seeing what people are doing online to the two of you, I am very frightened about my name getting out there. However, if it does, so be it. The truth is the truth, and I am deeply concerned for Fr. Corapi's eternal soul. I pray that he returns home to his order. The two of you remain in my prayers as well.

Peace & Blessings,

Bobbi Ruffatto

Don't look back

A new day is breakin'

It's been too long since I felt this way

I don't mind where I get taken

The road is callin'

Today is the day

And I can see

It took so long just to realize

I'm much too strong

Now, to compromise

Now I see what I am is holding me down

I'll turn it around, oh yes I will

It's a bright horizon but I'm awakin'

Oh I see myself in a brand new way

The sun is shinin'

The clouds are breakin'

'Cause I can't lose now, there's no game to play...

Don't look back

Don't look back

Don't look back

Don't look back...

~"Don't Look Back," Boston

He danced for those at minstrel shows and county fairs

throughout the south

He spoke through tears of 15 years how his dog and him

traveled about

The dog up and died, he up and died

And after 20 years he still grieves

Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles

Mr. Bojangles, dance...

It seems like ages ago when Bobbi Ruffatto wrote a spirited defense of her mentor John Corapi (see "Corapi corrupted part I") and you wondered if the preaching padre may indeed be getting a raw deal. But now, in light of the SOLT's revelations and those of others in the know, John Corapi's lawsuit claiming that it was Tamra Sexton who ruined his career and reputation are merely laughable. Certainly, we, like his last loyal soldier Bobbi, pray he comes back to the Faith, but in the meantime we need to find something away from the priesthood where the tanned and tattooed one can still run off at the mouth but not lead any more unsuspecting souls or prostitutes away from the Church. And after hearing the reports (and listening to those two songs on the radio) I believe I have just the thing...
