National Border Patrol Union President Brandon Judd went on Fox News 'Fox & Friends' on Monday and told show host Steve Doocy that morale at the Border Patrol is at all-time high. He has not seen previously the vibe and energy felt currently by the agency responsible for border security.

In a discussion with Doocy over President Donald Trump's promised border wall, Judd said that morale is higher now than he has known it in two decades.

Partial transcript:

Peter Doocy: Exit question. I know during the Obama administration I know a lot of you and your officers felt hamstrung, couldn’t really do your job. What about now?

Brandon Judd: There’s a vibe, there’s an energy in the Border Patrol that’s never been there before. In 20 years that I’ve been in the patrol, we haven’t seen this type of energy and we’re excited, because we signed up to do a job and this president is allowing us to do that job.

After praising the Freedom Caucus in Congress and President Trump, Judd called for a double-layered barrier along the border as a minimum requirement to enhance security on the frontier. He also said that "The president has done a great job of actually enforcing the law, something we didn't see in the last eight years. If we continue to do that, a clear message will be sent throughout the world that if you cross our borders illegally, you will be detained and you will be sent back." Since Trump terminated the practice of "Catch and Release," Judd said that there has been a drop in border crossings never seen before. "This president has done exactly what he promised to do, and we do have border security like what we expect to see."
