A killer is on the loose, sparking enforcement to call on the community to seek information about a man who featured the murder of an elderly man on a live feed on Facebook. Steve Stephens (34) is wanted on a charge of aggravated murder in the shooting death of elderly Robert Godwin Sr. (74) in Cleveland on Sunday. On the shaky amateur video, the killer can be heard saying “Found me somebody I’m going to kill. I’m going to kill this guy right here. He’s an old dude, too.”

Stephens then descended from his car and approached the grandfather of 14 who was walking down a sidewalk, holding a plastic shopping bag. Stephens then asked the victim to say the name “Joy Lane” - the shooter’s girlfriend. Godwin replied that he did not know her. Stephens then says, “She’s the reason that this is about to happen to you.” Godwin tried to shield his face, bringing up the plastic bag, when Stevens shot him in the head.

According to Cleveland.com, Robert Godwin Jr. -- the victim’s son -- could not bear to watch the video the depicted the elder’s death. The video remained on Facebook for three hours before it was taken down.

“I haven’t watched the video. I haven’t even looked at my cell phone or the news,” Godwin said. “I don’t really want to see it.” The younger Godwin said he believed that his father was collecting aluminum cans on Sunday. The retired foundry worker often walked with a plastic bag to collect the discards.

In another video, Stevens claimed to have murdered more than a dozen other people. “I shamed myself. I snapped, I snapped. I just snapped, I just killed 13 motherf——, man,” Stephens to another person while speaking by phone. “I’m about to keep killing until they catch me, f— it. I’m telling them to catch me.” Stephens blamed his girlfriend for his actions. Saying that he was fed up, Stephens laughed and said, “Now I’m just massacring people.”

Cleveland police have yet to verified Stephens claims. Stephens worked for Beech Brook, a behavioral health agency that serves at-risk youth. In one of the videos, Stephens is seen wearing an employee badge from Beech Brook. Authorities believe that Stephens may have fled the state. His cell phone showed a ping in Pennsylvania. Citizens of Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania have been advised to be on the lookout for Stephens. There is currently a nationwide search in effect.

Stephens is believed to be driving a white Ford Fusion automobile bearing the temporary tag of E363630.

Race activist Tariq Nasheed tweeted his concern that news of the random murder by Stephens may prompt white racists to kill black people.
