According to the Rasmussen polling organization, a survey it conducted showed that 35 percent of Likely American voters think that the United States is currently headed in the right direction. The survey was conducted nationally via telephone during Thanksgiving week.
The poll shows an increase of two points over the preceding two weeks. For much of 2016, the finding ran only in the mid- to upper 20s. It saw a bump into the upper 40s only after President Donald Trump's inauguration.
The national telephone survey of 2,500 Likely Voters was conducted November 19-21, 2017. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 2 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
