MONDAY, March 26:

Russia/U.S.
: U.S. acting Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller travels to Vienna, Moscow, Tallinn, and London to discuss the future of conventional arms control in Europe.

Tajikistan: Dushanbe hosts the fifth International Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan. Presidents of Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, and Tajikistan to attend the conference.

Tajikistan/U.S.: U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Robert Blake visits Dushanbe (to March 28).

World: Seoul hosts the second Nuclear Security Summit (to March 27).

U.S./Afghanistan: Brookings Institution hosts a discussion of the U.S. and NATO mission in Afghanistan.

U.S./Russia: Carnegie Endowment in Washington holds a discussion titled "Putin, Russia, and the West: War."
 

TUESDAY, March 27:

Belarus: The Johns Hopkins University hosts a discussion titled "Belarus-EU Relations: Short on Carrots, Short on Sticks."

Kazakhstan: A meeting of the Council of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly to be held in Almaty.

Serbia: Serbian President Boris Tadic to be awarded the Council of Europe North-South Prize 2012 in Lisbon.

Ukraine: Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of Ukraine visit Kyiv (to March 29).

U.S./Caspian Region: Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington holds a conference titled "Prospects for Prosperity in the Caspian Basin."

U.S./Ukraine: Brookings Institution in Washington holds a discussion on the challenges facing Ukraine, the United States, and the European Union.

World: Amnesty International publishes its annual death-penalty statistics.


WEDNESDAY, March 28:

Iraq: Baghdad hosts the Arab League foreign ministers meeting ahead of the March 29 leaders summit.

Iran/Turkey: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan visits Tehran for talks with Iranian leaders.

Russia: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev attends the fourth BRICS Summit in New Delhi (to March 29).

World: Index on Censorship to announce the Freedom of Expression awards 2012 in London.


THURSDAY, March 29:

Azerbaijan: Debates on the situation with human rights in Azerbaijan to be held in Brussels.

Bosnia-Herzegovina: Amnesty International launches briefing on war-era sexual violence in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Georgia/Russia: Geneva hosts the 19th round of security talks between Russia and Georgia.

Iraq: Baghdad hosts the Arab League Summit.

Macedonia: Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki visits the Czech Republic.

U.S.: Council on Foreign Relations holds a conversation with former U.S. national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski.


FRIDAY, March 30:

Armenia: Armenian opposition plans to hold a protest rally in Yerevan.

EU/Ukraine: The ceremony to initial the EU-Ukraine association agreement is scheduled to take place in Brussels.


SATURDAY, March 31:

Russia: The Russian opposition plans to hold its regular Strategy 31 rally in Moscow and other cities.

World: Earth Hour.

Turkey: Istanbul International Film Festival opens (runs till April 15).


SUNDAY, April 1:

Kyrgyzstan: U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Robert Blake visits Bishkek (to April 3).

Turkey: Istanbul hosts "Friends of Syria" meeting.
