Defense officials at Kirtland Air Force Base near Albuquerque, New Mexico, confirmed that the west side of the base was on lock down after receiving reports of an active shooter. Local TV news reports said the shooting wass unconfirmed. There are no reports that it is related to the shootings on December 2 in San Bernardino, California.
 
The Twitter account for Kirtland Air Force Base declared that the "precautionary lockdown" has now been lifted.
