1. Illegally obtained classified information
NPR reporter Mara Liasson asked Trump whether he had fired former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, Trump said, “Mike Flynn is a fine person, and I asked for his resignation. He respectfully gave it. He is a man who there was a certain amount of information given to Vice President Pence, who is with us today. And I was not happy with the way that information was given. He said the Russia storyline as reported by the media is “fake news.” “He didn’t have to do that, because what he did wasn’t wrong — what he did in terms of the information he saw. What was wrong was the way that other people, including yourselves in this room, were given that information, because that was classified information that was given illegally. That’s the real problem.”
2. Dishonest press
Trump criticized the press at the press conference and said that it is “so dishonest” and “out of control.”
3. Out of control press
"I'm here again to take my message straight to the people. As you know, our administration inherited many problems across government and across the economy. To be honest, I inherited a mess. It's a mess. At home and abroad, a mess."
4. Having a good time
"Tomorrow, they will say: 'Donald Trump rants and raves at the press. I'm not ranting and raving. I'm just telling you. You know, you're dishonest people. But -- but I'm not ranting and raving. I love this. I'm having a good time doing it." Inherited a mess After summarizing the accomplishments of the administration since his inauguration, Trump said that he “inherited a mess” from the Obama administration.
5. Really fake news
“Well, the leaks are real. You’re the one that wrote about them and reported them. I mean the leaks are real. You know what they said. You saw it and the leaks are absolutely real. The news is fake because so much of the news is fake.” A bunch of jerks 6. When asked about how he would deal with Russia and President Vladimir Putin, Trump recalled, “Hillary Clinton did a reset, remember? With the stupid plastic button that made us all look like a bunch of jerks. Here, take a look. He looked at her like, what the hell is she doing with that cheap plastic button?”
6. Set up a meeting
Reporting for American Urban Radio Networks, whose target audience consists of black Americans, April Ryan asked Trump if he will include the Congressional Black Caucus, which consists solely of Democrats, in conversations about his promise to fix “the inner cities.” “Do you want to set up the meeting? Are they friends of yours?” Trump asked. (Because Ryan, who is black, should definitely facilitate a meeting between the president and black members of Congress.) “Let’s go set up a meeting. I think it’s great, the Congressional Black Caucus.”
