“The North Korean military test fired two air-to-ship missiles from IL-28 bombers, one in October and the other early this month,” a presidential source was quoted as saying.
“If the North fires air-to-ship missiles from IL-28 bombers near the NLL [Northern Limit Line],” South Korea may be forced to respond. To this effect, “Military authorities are bolstering anti-air defence on the ground and on ships,” the source added.
North Korea has used military provocations to maintain its population in a heightened sense of readiness to defend the state.
Started by Kim Il-sung, this policy has been useful for five decades; however, famine and a shrinking economy have now pushed North Koreans to the brink of desperation.
