A Mexican national now known as "the world's most persistent illegal alien," managed to get deported 44 times in 15 years. That means he was able to sneak back across the border again and again, according to the Washington Times.

The Times obtained data from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) which showed the second most notorious illegal alien was deported 40 times from 2001 to 2015 and number 3, 4 and 5 on the list were deported 35, 34 and 31 times. Those figures underline the urgency to secure the porous border between the U.S. and Mexico by building a wall and making immigration enforcement a priority.

Another extreme case involving an illegal alien who was deported multiple times brings further attention to the need for border security. Indianapolis Colts player Edwin Jackson and his Uber driver were killed in Indiana when they were plowed into by an illegal alien who was drunk behind the wheel of an F-150 and who had had been deported twice.

President Donald Trump tweeted about the death saying, "So disgraceful that a person illegally in our country killed @Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson ... We must get the Dems to get tough on the Border, and with illegal immigration, FAST!" That same admonition applies to many in the president's own party who are more interested in amnesty for illegal aliens than protecting the security of the American people.

But will Democrats "get tough" on illegal immigration? After House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's eight-hour marathon speech defending "DREAMers," the odds don't seem very high for that.
