On NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” cast member Cecily Strong portrayed First Lady Melania Trump in three short video sketches that appeared to portrayed President’s Trump as an aloof and clueless sybarite living at the top of Trump Tower in Manhattan. In the first of a three video series entitled “Melania Moments,” “The Passerby” shows Strong depicting the First Lady in her apartment looking out of her window.
A narrator says that “Melania Trump gazed out her window” and saw a man just out of sight. The narrator intones that Melania then wondered “what happens to them? To the people once they leave Fifth Avenue? Where do they go? Do they disappear? Is there a Sixth Avenue? Is there a Fourth Avenue? I’d really like to know?”
This is not the first time that the late night comedy show of progressive leanings has derided Melania Trump. In October 2016, another one of the “Melania Moments” aired, in which actress Strong depicted her waking up “in a cold sweat,” having dreamed that somewhere in Latvia, a girl was born who would replace her. The narrator says that Melania would warn the girl in Latvia against Trump.
