Yousif Ali Mashhandani, 35, of Vienna, Virginia, and Adil Hasan, 38, of Burke, Virgiinia, were arrested on Tuesday, while a summons has been issued for Enas Ibrahim, 32, the wife of Hasan. The three Iraqi nationals had applied for refugee status and then settled in the Washington DC metropolitan region.
 
Prosecutors allege that Mashhandani and Hasan are the brothers of  Majid Al Mashhandani. Prosecutors allege that the latter has admitted that6 he played a role in the 2004 abduction of Roy Hallums, an American contractor, was kept in captivity for almost a year before being released as the result of a raid by the U.S. Army. According to the prosecution, the two brothers failed to disclose their relationship to Majid as required by law.
