I have a book of Lives of the Saints,Illustrated Dedicated to ST Joseph. I really like this book and have read a few good stories in it. I want to learn all about the church fathers and what they did and how they died I have read one that really had me in tears,as she suffered so much at the hands of this dude called Apronianus. The Saint was called Bibiana, what a horrible fate was hers like the Lords but worst to me.I some times hate to read these and feel that the church did this crap to the Saints but then I see it was the government. I thought that the church was part of the government all the time back then?? Anyone? |

2. Conqueror also has a problem with any one listening and believing what the Pope says, but wants every one to listen and believe what Conqueror says.
3. Yes, I think we are face to face with a present-day Abiram. |

So saith the Conqueror, the resurgent futuristic tribe of Korah, Dathan and Abiram!!!
Dishonoring those men whom God places in sacred office.
Owner of the Holy Spirit and all His actions.

Posted - 06/27/2012 : 18:01:39 Since the Holy Spirit has NO GENDER, what personal pronoun should we use for the Holy Spirit?
The Father has been assigned as male, and so has the Son, but in the Bible the Holy Spirit is not assigned a masculine gender, nor the feminine. Since you seem to feel that the Bible is a poor guide, also giving the Holy Spirit a neuter pronoun which you object to, perhaps your "Pope" has some revelation to provide a suitable answer? |

We3l the Holy Spirit of God is his power at work through you and I in charitable ways and in love and peace also he choses whome he wishes to do hs work. Jesus called the Farther Father I assume he is a male spirit as most everyone else does.If not that would mean Jesus was an IT! and he was not! God made them male and female he also said let us make man in (our image) not the (it's) image. He is real alive well and watching he is a he or she if you wan but never and IT! TAG!@ Your IT!
So a lot of Catholics are wrong calling the Spirit an IT! Which means that the don't know his empowering presence.
Lousy witness! |

Posted - 06/27/2012 : 10:16:52 Spirits do not have gender. We are made in the image and likeness of God, but we also have gender. Since I am a woman and not a man, and my husband is a man and not a woman, it would be imprudent to assume that God is one or the other or both or neither.
Jesus is man because HE became man and walked among us. Jesus has a gender. The Father is identified as a Father, so while HE does not have a gender, we accept His introduction as male by His Son.
The Holy Spirit is not introduced with a gender and neutral pronounds are used in connection with the Holy Spirit.
On occassion, I have used "He" for the Holy Spirit, and rarely I think I have used "She" - after all we were made male and female.
God does not procreate so He does not need a gender.
And as for any uncharitable remarks I have ever made - yes, I admit I am human and sometimes respond in kind when I have been insulted or abused. It is not something I am proud of, but I do try.
As for those that come on here guns blazing, calling me names, insulting my integrity without just cause, well, I thank God that I have not yet reached that point in my life. I would hate to belong to any such group that promoted such uncharitable behaviour as a matter of course.
God is LOVE and there is no room for hate or malevolence in a Christian soul, regardless of what church or group he or she belonged to. Such bitterness does not come from God. |

Posted - 06/27/2012 : 08:32:07 Try reading my previous post. The Holy Spirit is neither a he nor she, so what other English personal pronoun is there that you suggest we use short of spelling out Holy Spirit every time? Faith knows the difference as does St. Paul in Romans 8, so why do you insist on straining gnats?
Good luck finding abusive posts.

I miss some of those conversations.

Interesting isn't it. Is there one school that all denominations attend? Same odd comments each and every time. |
