I was wondering since alot of people seem to think that the Trinity is a mystery and we don't know enough about it. I wonderd if they from old knew that answer? Would they ahve handed it down to the people? What is your take on this? Thank you lacy-1

Isaiah 9:6
A child will be born to us, will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father.
I may be a heretic, but I've always seen that as a pretty good description of the triune God.
With hindsight, I think it is easier for the Church to SEE trinity and elaborate as more was revealed to us.
Edit: added last sentence
Hello, I agree, it's all through the old testement, these people knew alot more then and alot has been destroyed in fires etc. They say that Egypt had a large library that burned with alot of books and important information that was biblical and also medical truths also. But as far as the bible ther is alot there to show they were expecting a mesiiah to come, so they would be freed from shelo, or Purgatory, where ever the great devide is locates. There are 2 parts one where the bad go and can see the good but cannot go over to them and ofcourse the good side that wait to go to the Father. I believe baby's right back to God and all people that die horrible deaths and mentally unstabel people ETC. After if God spoke to these people back then it was through his spirit and they knew about messiah comming then thwey had to know there were at least one God and one Son and his way to communicate. As i write this to you i am communicating to you from my spirit my mind. lacy-1

yes.. i certainly agree.. that it is a good description of the trinity and that we have an easier time seeing that with hindsight... but the question is would the jews have seen that.. it was hard for them to accept the messiah in the first place because there were too many ways that the prophecies could go, many expected him to be triumphant and take over the world through force and had no idea that the way he would conquer rome was with the gospel.

Concerning Genesis 18 - God and 2 angels (the 2 who Lot helped keep from being sodomized were angels).
acumenCry - when you say God and 2 angels,do you imply Jesus Christ and the two angels as men in the flesh eating and drinking and having their feet washed - btw Abraham adored all three as one and addressed all three as one and was addressed by all three as one - jimc

Well, how and why would the Sodomites try to rape angels as spiritual beings? Ha, I'm confused.

exactly and some tried to confuse me when I raised this very same topic previously here and elsewhere as Jesus incarnate "for Abraham rejoiced to see my day[as God incarnate]and he saw it and was glad" - jimc

The broader usage is not restricted to sexual assault cases, but in this particular case, the people of Sodom did not see "angels" they saw "men", angels can and did appear as men.
Sodomy was a very wicked place filled with very wicked people.

It is very sad. you cannot even take a walk or let your child ride a bike without getting assulted or being abducted. I would love to walk where i am at, but i am afraid,, and I am 5' tall, and not that strong at all. I stay in alot.lacy-1
