I have a book of Lives of the Saints,Illustrated Dedicated to ST Joseph. I really like this book and have read a few good stories in it. I want to learn all about the church fathers and what they did and how they died I have read one that really had me in tears,as she suffered so much at the hands of this dude called Apronianus. The Saint was called Bibiana, what a horrible fate was hers like the Lords but worst to me.I some times hate to read these and feel that the church did this crap to the Saints but then I see it was the government. I thought that the church was part of the government all the time back then?? Anyone?

Prior to Constantine legalizing Christianity, the Catholic Church (being Christianity) was illegal and was persecuted. Those saints were Catholic.
The Church was in Rome, but the Church was not the Roman government.
Even after Christianity was legalized, the Emperors sought to control the Church.
St. Bibiana was martyred during the reign of Julian the Apostate. This was after Constantine legalized Christianity, but Emperor Julian hated Christianity as he had seen hypocrites amoung his family who had professed the Faith. Roman Emperorers were sometimes Christians of convenience, but resorted to time old traditions of killing for power. Julian was so enraged by this that he became an atheist and tried to prove Jesus a fraud by rebuilding the Temple at Jerusalem which would have voided Christ's own prophecy that the Temple would be destroyed and never rebuilt.
This ended badly. No one goes up against God and wins. Julian emptied his treasury trying to rebuild the temple at Jerusalem, but the project was plagued by every manner of natural disaster. The only thing he accomplished was the removal of any last vestige of the original Temple - finishing was Christ prophesied.
Emperor Julian died a very horrible death, I think it was in battle, but a just fate for one so cruel.
Some of the persecutions were utterly horrific, but in the end the Church prevailed. She outlasted the Roman Empire and spread the Gospel over the whole world.

But what happened to that one io mentioned?? Apronianus? My book said he killed all her family he left just her and then she would not renouse her religion and he had her whipped to death. I hope I get to see him burn in hell before it gets distroyed.

Now there is another group of Saints that I really don't think many people talk all that much about. All those children when Herod wanted them dead because of the birth of the Messiah wanting so much for the Lord to die.All those children were myrtered for the Lord, all first fruits of God.

I do not know about him, but I am sure that justice was served one way or another.

STOP telling lies, catholics aren't saints and their not Christians.
What you don't tell us is, The catholic killed the Bible preaching believers because the Bible was chalenging the catholics authority.
As the catholics killed the Bible believing people for preaching God's truth, How can you say the catholics are the true Church??.
As I have said, catholics are a devil inspired man made false religion.

G4 what do you know about Joan Of Arc and how she died. I came across something today that she was from France and Catholic and that the British burned her at age 19 for her beliefs and being a heretic and they were Catholic to, so I am now confused, why the hell don't someone with a little knowledge tell me about Joan!!!!!!!

too late g4 i already captured your original statement. but it is nice to know that you are the kind of guy to go back and try to cover up your mistakes and manipulate. when you go back to edit something you wrote that has already been commented on you need to at the very least explain why your tampering with the evidence..but it's clear that you have a lot of experience tampering with truth. anyway totally expected. your original statement that catholics are saints is preserved on my post above for anyone to look at.
my thoughts are that g4 may have been speaking in tongues when he wrote it..

g4, nice try, but we all know you originally said "Catholics are saints". You are terrible at being deceptive. Maybe it's time for you to have a conversion of heart and join the good guys.
