Male homosexuals, who appear to have difficulties recognising that male and female genitals are purposely designed for each other, generally deny the existence of a Creator. Therefore they desperately hold fast to a theory, which hypothesises that male and female genitals evolved for each other. This evolutionary process would be severely hindered and even cease if there were too many 'gender confused' beings. Sodomy should be classed as abnormal behaviour, as these actions oppose their irrational thoughts.
Anyone who, claims to be motivated by love and therefore exposes his genitals to the faecal waste of a loved one surely needs psychiatric intervention. Marriage is defined by one loving act, however reciprocal sodomy requires two acts of lust and now society is pressured to sanction this abnormal and disgusting behaviour.

A rather disgusting way of putting it, but true.
I am shocked at how many non-Catholic Christians have abandoned the idea that homosexuality is Biblically wrong, or at least do not consider it to be an issue any more because they also believe that sin is no longer an issue.
Even some of the major denominations have dropped their prohibitions against homosexual practice and even gay marriage.
The Episcopal Bishop in Long Island, New York ordered his gay priests to get married or stop living together now that gay marriage is legal in New York. Gay clergy in the Episcopal Church in the US are allowed to practice their homosexuality openly and have even been promoted to Bishop while fully engaged in the Homosexual lifestyle. The order to get married to each other has only come about because of Gay marriage becoming legalized, as if this somehow makes a difference.
There are actively Gay clergy in most if not all Christian churches/groups, but there are fewer and fewer churches/groups that are willing to condemn this practice. Sin is still sin, no matter who is doing the sinning. More and more churches are embracing Gay rights as if God had never said a word on the matter. Many are even claiming that God never condemned the kind of homosexual practice we have today.
The United Church of Canada has been greatly affected by their choices to move forward with the times to embrace and promote Gay rights, including actively Gay clergy, Gay Marriage, and accepting homosexuality as a gift from God.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada similarly adopted homosexuality as a gift to be embraced and encouraged within their Faith community including allowing Gay marriage and ordination of actively Gay clergy.
There are a growing number of Gay centred Evangelical Churches that actively seek out and embrace homosexuals in their sin, and encourage them to embrace and continue in their sin.
It is one thing to have a pastor who sins and quite another to have a pastor who preaches sin as if it were virtue and spreads this doctrine as if it had God's approval.

Of course, it is also very unfortunate that there are those who never make that distinction between the existance of sin within a group and the indoctrination of sin from the pulpit.

Do you want to talk about rampant and systemic paedophilia in your holy institution?
If necessary use words, as actions speak louder!

Yes, lets.
I want you to show me from the Catechism of the Catholic Church that states that it is OK for anyone, especially a priest, to molest a child.
I want you to explain to me why you believe that it is a greater sin for this to have occurred in the Catholic Church than outside of it. I would agree that it was horrific as a sin, and horrific that it should occur in the Catholic Church because of what she is, but you don't believe that the Catholic Church IS THE Church that Christ founded, so why the double standard?
The crime is much more prevalent outside the Catholic Church than inside. It is a huge problem in public sectors and Protestant sectors and yet, not a peep from you.
Do you think it is OK that a Baptist pastor molested young men just because he was Baptist and not Catholic? Is it OK if a Bible Christian pastor marries an eight year old girl for sex just because he isn't Catholic.
Is it OK that the Boy Scouts have 20 years of files that should have gone to the police but didn't just because they are not Catholic?
Grown men and women have WITNESSED these acts carried out by secular groups and said nothing until the victim was old enough to tell his or her parents. Those witnesses should have gone to jail for not stopping the crimes and yet if they are not a Catholic Priest ... so what? Really!!
Let's talk about it. Show me what you have that makes you think you have all the answers on this matter.

Of course it is acceptable for Catholic priests to abuse children
When bishops find out, then the priest is transferred to another parish, with a fresh lot of children to be abused.
How dare you defend your satanic religion and pretend it is of God?

It was never acceptable. It happened, and a lot did not know how to handle a horrific situation. No one did.
That did happen thirty years ago, because some honestly thought that they could treat the priest and that the fear of Hell would stop him. That didn't work and so the methods changed and now the Catholic Church has the lowest rates of any group.
But the secular groups did not change. A few years back a young girl waas murdered and dismembered in Ontario. Her family found out later that over 200 convicted pedophiles lived in her neighbourhood because the federal government did not know what to do with them.
Even after the scandal broke out in the Catholic Church, none of the others learned a dang thing. The Boy Scouts did not change a stitch until they were exposed. Neither did any other group. That is why the problem still persists to such a high degree outside the Catholic Church.
And I have been watching Dateline's To Catch a Predator for a number of years now. I have never seen a Catholic Priest get caught. I have seen Protestant Youth ministers get caught, Rabbis, Muslims, teachers, doctors, and a self-professed Born Again Christian with an amateur online ministry. Not one Catholic Priest. There is still the odd one, but very rare, and none on that show.
There are reasons why I answered this particular thread on homosexuality, but if you are not capable of having a sensible discussion so be it.

"Born agains" aren't listed under a heading in the child sexual abuse statistics. Which is helpful for those who wish to continue in their misbelief that child sexual abuse doesn't happen in their denomination.
Assemblies of God is listed on some online child sexual abuse reports.
A Pentecostal pastor was recently convicted on 14 counts of child sexual abuse (latest count was for a 2007 abuse).

Those who have distanced themselves from the Reformation by becoming non-denoms of no fixed affiliation do make it harder to nail down their abuses, and it is rather interesting as part of the reason of departing from the Reformation churches was to distance themselves from the abuses and corruptions of the Reformation Churches (not specifically this particular one).
But there are many denominations with clergy who have fallen.
There are numbers available, but I don't know how much is available on line, but I found a few sites to be interesting.
StopBaptistPredators
It isn't just a Catholic issue.
From Ethics Daily regarding the Southern Baptist Conventions.
quote: EthicsDaily.com reported 11 arrests, three convictions, two lawsuits and one suicide involving alleged sexual abuse by clergy in 2007.
Other stories included a church that allowed a convicted sex offender to preach from its pulpit while knowing about his past and comments by the president of the Southern Baptist Convention denying clergy predators are a "systemic" problem and accusing victim advocates of using the issue for personal gain.
Those stories were part of ongoing coverage of efforts by the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests to pressure the 16.3 million-member convention to establish an independent review board for clergy sex abuse similar to those set up by Roman Catholics and other denominations after the Catholic pedophile priest cover-up scandal five years ago.
It is not that Baptists are bad or Catholics are bad or Lutherans are bad, etc. But this is a problem that is everywhere and needs to be dealt with. The Catholic Church had to learn some very painful mistakes. Others are starting to realize that they need to deal with this issue before it blows up on them.
Time For Some Fair and Balanced Reporting on Clerical Sexual Abuse
This Blog has some useful advice for getting a clearer picture on the scandal within the larger body of Christianity - Google it, only add the names of the various larger denominations to see that it is not just Catholics.
The author also repeats my constant assertions that priestly celibacy and an all male priesthood are not the root of this problem.
Why Do Catholics Get All the Blame for Clergy Abuse?, posted on Law.com.
Interesting question. And not so surpising answer - money.
quote: This last point may be the most plausible but it begs the question, Why did the lawyers target the Catholic Church? Tillers' answer: "The hierarchical structure of the Roman Catholic Church made it possible -- after some tinkering was done with immunity rules pertaining to non-profits -- to bring actions for damages against entities with relatively deep pockets." And now that these lawyers have emptied those deep Roman Catholic pockets, Tillers writes, "we can expect to see -- and I think we are seeing -- an increasing number of sex abuse lawsuits against Protestant clergy and churches, Jewish clergy and organizations, other religious organizations and their clergy ... and -- eventually -- educators (regardless of religious persuasion) and those who employ educators."
Insurance companies are an interesting source of information, on a report from MSNBC Insurer data sketch Protestant clergy sex abuse they devulged that there have been about 13,000 credible accusations against Catholic priests since 1950. (They have some information on Protestants too, but I want so show something specific here pertaining to the Catholic Church.)
Now that is a huge number. That should never have happened. Certainly not in Christ's Church. But while horrific, just how wide spread is it?
The Catholic Church currently has over one billion Catholics, to serve them there are currently about 410,000 priests. Note that is for the year 2011. This is not the total number that existed between 1950 and 2011, but I will use that number for ease of use.
Now if we pretend that 13,000 accusations were not spaced over 50 years but for ease of calculations all happened in 2011, and that each accusation equaled one victim (not necessarily but humour me), and each victim had a unique victimizer - we would be looking at slightly over 3% of the priesthood being abusers.
That means nearly 97% of priest were not abusers.
Of course the 3% number is greatly inflated because a single victim could make more than one accusation, and even if they didn't, most did not each have unigue abusers - a single priest could abuse anywhere from 30 to 300 victims. And the total number of priests that served during the course of that 50 year period would be much larger. So that the real percentage of abusing priests is much lower.
That it happened in Christ's Church is horrific. That anyone tried to cover it up is also horrific, but human. Witnesses in every other denomination and school and sports club, even government agencies, did the same thing - it was wrong for any of them to have done this, but it happens.
99% of Catholic priest's never touched anyone. Yet we get a constant barrage of hate speech crying out about this being a systemic problem in the Catholic Church.
Clean out your own houses first.

The OP is not about the RCC it is you who made that connection. your problem, your image, your bad fruit. However you work hard at making evil palatable. unlike Jesus who came to destroy evil.
BTW Jesus couldn´t destroy that evil in the RCC, because it is not his church!

The OP is about homosexuality. This is a Christian forum, and it was a logical move to show where and now homosexuality is fitting in with Christian Churches.
You are the one who made the connection to pedophilia in the Catholic Church. And I am not in any way trying to make evil palatable. The evil is in YOUR house. I am showing you the way out by showing where progress has been made.

Or did you honestly think that homosexuality only exists outside of Christianity?
