RCRC Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice

Last night, I was listening to "Catholic Answers Live" concerning the reversal of the immoral HHS mandates on religious institutions.

In the discussions, I heard a comment - that both United Methodist and United Church of Christ are pro-abortion.

I did a search online today about our local area denominations - and with further digging found the RCRC website - that various denominations and organizations join to perserve and enlarge government protections on abortion.

Our local United Methodist denomination is pro-abortion (althou they do hide that information well ) and with a google search into their pro-abortion activities their participation in abortion branches from local to state to this RCRC coalition.

Currently, our local Church of Christ in pro-life - however that apparently changes depending on each pastor and congregation.

The list of denominations and organizations in RCRC is availalbe here:

http://rcrc.org/about/members.cfm

On the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice website they write:

quote:

Observe the Roe v. Wade Anniversary by Staying Vigilant and Taking Action

As the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice celebrates the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the war on women rages on, and we who trust women and respect their decisions must renew our commitment to protecting this landmark Supreme Court ruling.

On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court said, in simple terms, that women have a constitutional right to privacy to make decisions about whether to have an abortion. Because this decision involves moral as well as medical considerations, the Court ruled, a woman has the right to consider her personal circumstances and the dictates of her conscience.

It’s especially important for the pro-faith community to speak out now.

For the past year, zealots in Congress and state legislatures – many of whom preach the sanctity of privacy and freedom from government – have relentlessly waged a vicious war on women’s access to health care.

More than 1,000 bills were introduced in state legislatures, including the Ohio “heartbeat” bill banning abortion after the 6th or 7th week of gestation, and numerous bills requiring pregnant women to have ultrasounds. In 2011, 92 anti-abortion provisions were enacted – the most in any year since Roe v. Wade was decided!

The Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice website goes on to write:

quote:
But there were victories last year, too.

•Voters in Mississippi defeated by 55% to 45% a personhood amendment that would have conferred legal rights at the moment of fertilization.

•The governor of Kentucky refused to permit the merger of a publicly-funded institution with a Catholic health group that would have restricted abortion (even to save a woman’s life), sterilization, contraception and emergency contraception.

•Just two days ago, HHS Secretary Sebelius eased our worst fears by reaffirming contraceptive services without co-pays or deductibles in new healthcare legislation, and permitting only a narrow exemption for religious employers.

We want to thank President Obama and Secretary Sebelius for recognizing the importance of affordable birth control to the wellbeing of women and families.

We especially want to thank the nearly 13,000 pro-choice people of faith who signed our petition to President Obama to voice their belief that all women deserve the full range of reproductive health services.

Yup. Depressing when we have Christians who would have aborted Christ.

Think about it. 13 year old unwed mother in a culture that believes that if her betrothed is not the father, she is an adulteress and deserving of being stoned to death.

Perfect candidate for abortion.

Not surprising, there is a growing number of denominations and non-denoms who are supporting gay marriage.

Christianity is being sold down the river by its own members. Trampling under foot the Lord that bought them.

The world is swallowing us up like quicksand.

Faith at Large,

I found this online this morning.

February 8, 2012, Washington, DC – Today, twenty major mainstream religious leaders
released a statement supporting the January 20, 2012 announcement by the Department of
Health and Human Services that contraceptive services must be covered by most insurance
policies without deductibles or co-pays, and that only purely sectarian organizations are exempt from this requirement.

Depressing. And not surprising.

And "Catholics for Choice" is not a Catholic organization. They can call themselves whatever they like, unfortunately, but they have been working hard for a long time to undermine the Catholic Church.

Of course, the Bible did say that this would happen. We were warned very clearly that we would see those that despise government and speak evil of dignities.

Jesus wondered if any would still believe on Him when He returned. It is one thing to say one believes, but actions speak louder than words.

One cannot say that they believe in Jesus and then reject His teachings. That is yet another form of idolatry.

One of our state's bishops (Fabian Bruskewitz) actually threatened excommunication to all the Catholics in Lincoln who were signature supporters of Catholics for Choice.

Good for him. The purpose of excommunication is to get the point across for just how serious this is. He needs to stand firm, and if they persist, then he must follow through.

This is a cancer on our faith, it must be stopped or it will grow. Unfortunately it has been festering for a long time.

This is the thing also. The liberal media jumps on statics and will proudly announce that 55, 65 or 85%, whatever figure they feel like using at any time, of Catholic women use ABC. They pound on it and pound on it time and time again just trying to make a point that the Catholic Church is out of step with "modern times". They seem to be trying to convince some unfortunately ignorant Catholics, that their Church is wrong. However, they fail to even mention that the Catholic Church does NOT go with popular vote, and even though the Church teaches ABC is intrinsically sinful, they don't mention that the Church will NOT change her teachings and that any Catholic that goes against the Church's teachings is in danger of excommunication.

I must say with sadness and with all due respect that many Bishops are cowards and do not want to upset the flock. If they would all stand behind Bishop Bruskewitz and loudly proclaim the same thing, I believe the media would have no choice but to take notice. It confuses many when one Bishop takes a hard stand and others will just say that the situation is different in each diocese. To me how can something that is intrinsically evil be different from one diocese to another.

I've not able to determine exactly if it was St. Athanasius or St. John Chrysostom who said "The floor of hell is covered with the skull of Bishops".

Luke 12:48 "But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."

And the Bishops are given great responsibility and are surely attacked heavily by Satan. Bishops are men just like we are and subjected to temptation and human weaknesses; many succumb. That's why we need to pray and pray for our Bishops to have the courage to speak out and stand united 100%.
We must never glance at what is good in ourselves, much less ponder over it, but we should search out what is wrong and what is lacking. This is an excellent way of remaining humble.

That is unreal that United Methodist and United Church of Christ are pro-abortion. They have exited the community of Christians.

Through bigotry prejudices false assumptions & false premises Protestants are protesting a catholic church made up by Protestantism that does not actually exist.

Little girls do not grow up dreaming of hopping from bed to bed and contraception. They dream of a man who will sweep them off their feet and love them forever, and of having his many children. A cynicism born of the sexual revolution has brought emptiness to the hearts, wombs and lives of far too many modern women. This emptiness and pain can be avoided or redeemed and healed by the love of Christ and adherence to His teachings. The Catholic Church believes in such dreams because God wrote them on the human heart. And there are men who long for such a woman to love and cherish.

Real lovers want to give without reserve in God's own superabundance creating more hearts and lives to love. Contraception is like kissing through a screen door and real love cannot tolerate obstacles. Contraception breeds selfishness and separation that drives a wedge between husband and wife that kills love. Real lovers want their love to explode into the posterity of future generations for all eternity. This is the kind of passion and fulfillment God wants for His children. Contraception limits what should be boundless. It spits in the face of this glorious passion and love's true abandon; and that is why it is a sin. It seeks to "tame" love, thus killing it. The Catholic Church is the last bastion on earth of true romance. The modern world has suffocated love and made sex a thing of deadness.
