I can tell you this much. If you are not logged in, you will not see those features.
When you post, do need to enter your username and password each time? Or, have you logged in and just post without having to re-enter your username and password.
If you have logged in at the top of the screen, you will See a quick welcome screen welcoming you back, and then go to the forum. Once you have logged in correctly, you will be able to post at will without having to re-enter your information until after you have logged out.

yeah make sure you are actually logged in. i post all the time without actually being logged in.... and run into the same problem when i need to do a quick edit.... then i remember to check at the top and make sure i'm actually logged in.

That's exactly what's happening. Lacy, everyone is right. Make sure you're logged in long-term instead of the login-per-post method.
