The electronic rosary, which has been patented, is a small gadget like a key ring. On one side it has a picture of Pope John Paul II with the inscription "Rosarium Virginis Mariae," as a tribute to what he did for the rosary, the inventors told ZENIT. "Rosarium Virginis Mariae" was the 2002 apostolic letter on the rosary. The rosary has a push-button that enables one to count the prayers automatically. After praying each Hail Mary, the push-button is pressed and there is a small vibration. When coming to the last Hail Mary of each mystery, the vibration is longer to indicate the end of the mystery. At the end of the fifth mystery, the push-button is inhibited to indicate that the rosary has finished.

Inspired by this new electronic rosary Ron-Coe products presents the new electronic group rosary to be used by the person leading the recitation of the rosary. A common problem in group recitations of the rosary is that they are said so fast that it leaves no time for meditation. It is apparent that many were trained in Evelyn Wood's school of speed praying where the Hail Marys sound more like a a 45 played at 78 RPM or like the buzzing sound Captain Kirk hears when he is in accelerated phase and he meets the Scalosians. The rosary is said so fast that you would think every recitation was part of a competition for a Guinness World Record.

The group electronic rosary is especially timed for a more prayerful pace. After each Hail Mary is recited the leader presses the button at the top. If the pace is too quick in comparison to the internal prayer metronome a gentle electrical shock is applied to the wrist strap. This shock increases further if subsequent presses the prayer pace is not slowed. At the end of each decade a light vibration occurs informing the user. If the rosary has been recited at at too fast a pace three light shocks in succession are administered. Over timed the prayer reader is trained so as to never incur shocks while using the electronic group rosary.

This might seem to be an unnecessarily cruel device for the leader of the rosary, but it is far better than bead burn which occurs when people run their fingers over the rosary so fast that the bead heat up burning their fingers.

So don't wait and order now and return the saying of the rosary to the sphere of contemplation and not at the speed of an auction.
