Michael Moore, the Michigan native and film-maker famous for 'Roger and Me', is promoting a new video campaign ad for Moveon.org that features aged nursing room patients cursing and describing violent acts they promise to unleash should the Republican party and Mitt Romney win the coming election on November 6. (Warning: the language should be considered Not Safe For Work. Readers are advised).
In the video, a woman identified as 97-year-old Marie says "“I was born in 1915 during World War I. My first vote was in 1940 for Franklin D. Roosevelt and I have not missed an election since.” She continues, “And I want the Republican Party to know, if your voter suppression throughout this beautiful country enables Romney to oust Barack Obama we will burn this motherfucker down. ”
“Si se puede,” adds an unidentified man in the nursing home in Spanish. Translated, the phrase means "Yes, it can be done," which is commonly used by strikers and leftists. A 75 year-old woman identified as Dorothi says that while she “has been very blessed,” it is clear she is no supporter of the GOP candidate. “If the Republicans steal this election, I am going to track down Mitt Romney and give him the world’s biggest cock-punch…What’s the matter sonny, ain’t you never heard that phrase, cock-punch?” Looking feisty, the superannuated, grey-haired, blue-eyed, woman adds, “Right in the nutsack,” she adds.
A man identified as John, an 85-year-old World War II veteran, says that his generation will hold the next generation accountable should Romney win the election. Said John, “If you let the Republicans do this to you again, after we die, we are going to look down on you from Heaven and we’re going to make a point of watching you have sex, every time,” John says. “No matter how kinky.” “Especially if we are related,” offers Marie.
They urge viewers to register with Moveon.org and “get out the vote.” The organization makes the vulgarity quite clear to viewers, noting “P.S. This isn’t safe for work. Not by a lonnnng shot."
