Nationally-syndicated conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said on Thursday that the media are "humiliating themselves" with coverage of President Donald Trump and his administration. Limbaugh said, "Little Jim Acosta" of CNN is "chasing the red laser light point around and bumping into walls and sofas." He said, "The media is now gob-smacked. They are in the process of humiliating themselves every day."
A "glaring example," Limbaugh said, of the kind of coverage he denounced, is the CNN story that connected Trump advisor Anthony Scaramucci to a Russian bank system. CNN had to retract the story and dismiss three senior correspondents. Appearing to agree with criticism leveled at the media on Tuesday by White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, Limbaugh said, "The whole Russia story has simply consumed the media." Concluding, Limbaugh said, "I think Trump has got them so discombobulated and so disoriented that they themselves are being consumed with hatred and rage and they are frustrated now at their inability to get rid of the guy."
