Jeanne Pirro, who hosts the eponymous “Justice with Judge Jeanie” show on Fox News, called on House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) to step down in the wake of the failure of the American Health Care Act. Last week, the proposed replacement for Obamacare was pulled from the House floor when it appeared certain to be defeated in a vote.
Pirro said on Saturday, "Paul Ryan needs to step down as speaker of the House." She added that the Wisconsin Republican had "failed to deliver" his repeal-and-replace bill. In her opinion, she said, it was Ryan who sought to pass the healthcare bill first rather than the tax reform Trump wanted. It was thus, she opined, that Ryan "blew it."
Praising Trump for handling the defeat "with dignity," Pirro said that Trump thanked Ryan and said that he had  "worked, very, very hard."
Trump had promoted the show some 12 hours earlier in a Twitter posting. Pirro said that he had not spoken to Trump about it.
