Fresh from his March 8 primary victories in Michigan and Mississippi, Donald Trump is leading Governor John Kasich in the latter's home state of Ohio. According to two new polls, Trump has a 6 point lead over Kasich. A Quinnipiac University Poll and a CNN poll each gave an edge for Trump over Kasich, who finished in third place in neighboring Michigan despite having spent considerable time and treasure in the Mitten State.
In Mississippi, Kasich also came in third. But in Idaho and Hawaii, he came in dead last. In the Quinnipiac poll of late February, Kasich also trailed Trump.
To stay in the game, Kasich needs to win the 66 delegates offered by the Buckeye State. Ohio holds its primary on March 15, which is a winner-take-all contest. On the same day, four other states also go to the polls. Despite the news, Kasich is scheduled to make multiple stops throughout Ohio over the next week in order to try his luck against the apparently unstoppable Trump. primary on March 15 along with four other key states.
The Quinnipiac poll found that 5 percent of Ohio voters are still undecided, while 27 percent said they may change their mind.
