In the latest video released by The Center for Medical Progress
, a former Planned Parenthood staffer, Holly O’Donnell, recounted her experiences at the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte Alameda facility in San José CA. In the new footage, released on August 19, O’Donnell said that while working at the facility, a fellow employee identified as "Jessica," asked her to look at a human fetus. O’Donnell recalled what happened when the staffer handled the well-developed baby boy, “And she just taps the heart, and it starts beating. And I’m sitting here and I’m looking at this fetus, and its heart is beating, and I don’t know what to think.”
These are the latest allegations released by CMP. Over the last two weeks, previous undercover videos taken by the group depicted negotiations with top officials at Planned Parenthood – the nation’s leading abortion provider – over compensation for various fetal organs and body parts. Since the public condemnation, and announcement of several state government investigations, the first CMP tape has had almost 3 million views. In that video, Planned Parenthood Director Deborah Nucatola said how clinic staffers modify abortion procedures according to the demand for fetal organs. “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
O’Donnell, for her part, alleges that she was told at the California clinic to harvest the brain from the aborted baby. To do so, she was told to slice open the face from the chin upward and then take the brain for shipment. She is a former procurement technician for Stem Express LLC.
The leader investigator for the project at CMP, David Daleiden, stated “Today’s video contains heartrending admissions about the absolute barbarism of Planned Parenthood’s abortion practice and baby parts sales in which fetuses are sometimes delivered intact and alive. Planned Parenthood is a criminal organization from the top down and should be immediately stripped of taxpayer funding and prosecuted for their atrocities against humanity.”
Live Action President Lila Rose said of the latest video, “Today we learned of another life cut short by Planned Parenthood, a fully formed baby still intact with a heart still beating as technicians carve his little face in order to harvest a brain. It is difficult to even speak of such horror, and yet our nation allows and even funds these atrocities against our weakest children. This little one is among the hundreds of thousands of lives extinguished every year by Planned Parenthood, a corporation that taxpayers are forced to fund with over a half billion dollars a year while the abortion giant harvests, traffics and profits from the illegal sale of baby organs.”
Calls in the U.S. Senate and among Republican presidential candidates to end taxpayer subsidies for Planned Parenthood have emerged since the release of the videos. However, while a motion in the Senate to end the funding and move the funds to other providers garnered majority support, it did not receive the 60 votes needed to break a filibuster by Senate Democrats.
In addition to Congress, more than 10 states are conducting investigations into Planned Parenthood practices. In addition, state governments in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Utah are seeking to terminate their Medicaid contracts with Planned Parenthood. New Hampshire seeks to end state funding.
Investigator Daleiden told the National Catholic Register in an interview, “It is as if they (the biotech companies) are going on a treasure hunt for the heads or hearts of babies, but how much more valuable would those heads and hearts be if they were allowed to grow up and be a part of society?”
In the new video, O'Donnell struggled with her emotions. She reflected, "It's just really hard knowing that you're the only person who's ever going to hold that baby. . . I think that it's a wasted life, and it's sad that so many people view it as a mistake," O'Donnell said. "You know, 'cuz it's not. I mean, life isn't a mistake. Getting pregnant - it can be an accident, but it's not a mistake."
