Film director and leftist Michael Moore recently released “Trumpland,” which is a movie that the controversial Michigander says is in support of Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. However, in a four-minute clip being shared by supporters of Donald Trump on social media, Moore appears to make a convincing case as to why Trump might win the coming presidential election. Trump himself approved of it.
Donald Trump Jr. called on his father’s supporters to watch the clip. The communications director for the Trump campaign, Jason Miller, tweeted, “Michael Moore must-see (not a typo) - disagree on many issues, but he speaks with conviction and clarity,” and added a link to BizPacReview. BPR quoted Moore, who said in his movie how impressed he was by Trump’s appearance in Detroit earlier this year.
Speaking to an audience in Ohio for the film, Moore defended Trump’s supporters. “They’re not racists or rednecks, they’re actually pretty decent people. So, after talking to a number of them, I sort of wanted to sort of write this.”
Recounting Trump’s visit to the Detroit Economic Club, Moore wrote that Trump “stood there in front of the Ford Motor executives and said: if you close these factories, as you are planning to do in Detroit, and rebuild them in Mexico, I am going to put a 35% tariff on those cars when you send them back and nobody’s going to buy them. It was an amazing thing to see.” Moore proclaimed that no Republican or Democrat had ever said anything like that to auto executives. “It was music to the ears of people in Michigan and Ohio and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The Brexit states.”
Later, on October 26, Moore tweeted to his fans “Hey everyone - Trump, Jr. & right wing thinks my movie called "TrumpLand" is pro-Trump! Haha. Pls don't tell them otherwise! #satire #irony.”
But Trump supporters saw gold in Moore’s movie.
For example, Jared Wyand, founder of ProjectPurge and a Trump supporter, tweeted about Moore’s movie, “If you make this go viral, Trump will win. It's 4 minutes that makes the choice in this election crystal clear.”
Candidate Donald Trump tweeted his approval, and included the four-minute segment of Moore’s movie for fans to see. "I agree - To all Americans, I see you & I hear you. I am your voice. Vote to #DrainTheSwamp with me on 11/8
