Planned Parenthood, an abortion provider that receives over $500 million in annual subsidies from taxpayers, is paying supporters to go door to door to canvass for candidates who make certain those federal subsidies continue. The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is advertising on Craig’s List in Cleveland for door-to-door canvassers who would be paid $720 per week to work on behalf of Democratic candidates. Those hired would earn between $15 to $18 per hour for up to 40 hours per week. Among the candidates Planned Parenthood supports is Hillary Clinton; PP has also been a big supporter of Barack Obama.

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America received $553.7 million in government grants and reimbursements in Fiscal Year 2015, which amounted about half its annual $1.1 billion budget. The organization says that federal funds are indeed used for commit abortions in circumstances allowed by law. The 100-year-old organization is the nation’s largest abortion provider.

PPFA is a 501c3 nonprofit, while Planned Parenthood Action is a 501c4 advocacy group.

A dozen states have taken steps to defund local affiliates of Planned Parenthood ever since the Center for Medical Progress began releasing the videos that showed Planned Parenthood officials negotiating over fetal body parts. Some of the affiliates are fighting the defunding efforts, while PPFA has filed a racketeering lawsuit against the center. Planned Parenthood’s most recently released budget show its federal funding increased in one year by 4.8 percent even though its patient visits dropped from 3 million to 2.5 million, the lowest number since 1998.
