Leftwing moviemaker Michael Moore, who has been visible of late in protests over the contamination of the drinking water in Flint MI with toxic lead, is a supporter of the Democratic candidacy of Sen. Bernie Sanders. He has called for a “revolution” in response to government mismanagement of the water crisis in Flint, blaming Republican Gov. Rick Snyder for a state-imposed emergency manager of the city, Darnell Earley.
The official appointed by Snyder to manage the financial and other affairs of Flint has been roundly blamed for Flint’s water crisis. Progressives and leftists such as Moore have called for Earley's prosecution and a resignation from Snyder himself.
Moore, who has authored several books and helmed several movies that are critical of the American system, tweeted his opinion that young people, by and large, support socialism as a matter of “fairness.” Reportedly, he owns not only a home in a resort area in the northeast of Michigan's lower peninsula, but also a sizeable apartment in Manhattan.
