Brandon Straka, a former Democrat who founded the #WalkAway movement to lead his followers into the Republican camp, tweeted that Facebook has suspended his account for 30 days. Straka announced on Twitter that he is facing a temporary ban on Facebook while he is planning a #WalkAway March on Washington in October. He plans to rally disgruntled former Democrats to show support for President Donald Trump. “Facebook just banned me,” Straka wrote on Twitter. “I have been banned from posting, leading up to the March.” He said that this has “devastated” his efforts to reach people in advance of the #WalkAway March. “I was banned for mentioning my interview with Alex Jones. Can anybody help???” he tweeted on Wednesday.

Straka provided screenshots of Facebook’s explanation for the suspension. Facebook stated, “If you post something that goes against our standards again, your account will be blocked for another 30 days.”

Straka’s WalkAway channel on YouTube has approximately 56,000 subscribers, which has garnered since earlier this summer. Media outlets such as Huffington Post and CNN claimed that Straka’s effort is the product of a “Russian bot” campaign that is intended to sunder Democrats.

Straka later tweeted on Wednesday that he deleted any tweets from his Twitter posts that mention the name “Alex Jones.”

Shock jock and controversialist Alex Jones has been banned on Facebook, as have conservatives and critics of legacy media, leftists, and Democrats. Others who have been suspended or banned include activists Candace Owens and Lauren Southern.
