Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich said on Fox News that Democrats have spent an inordinate time describing which policies they are "against." He asked, "What are they for?" Gingrich cited the example of former Attorney General Eric Holder, who is rumored to have presidential aspirations. In Holder, Gingrich said, Democrats would have another candidate describing policies they oppose.
Regarding rumors of a possible run by Holder against Trump in 2020, Gingrich pointed out that the former Obama associate has spent time delivering speeches in Virginia and making appearances in California.
Gingrich noted that Holder intentionally described himself as a black American. "If all Eric Holder does is mobilize people on an ethnic basis, he won't even get close to the nomination," Gingrich said. Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) is a better and more centrist alternative, said Gingrich.
