People ask me why Donna Brazile, a Democratic Party loyalist for more than three decades, suddenly turned rogue and revealed that a power-hungry Hillary Clinton rigged the 2016 nomination, just as I report in my new book All Out War: The Plot to Destroy Trump.

And why did Brazile claim, as I also report in All Out War, that Hillary was in such bad health that Brazile considered replacing Hillary as the party’s nominee late in the 2016 presidential race?

I have several answers to those questions.

Answer No. 1: Redemption. After Brazile was caught leaking questions to Hillary for a CNN town hall during the presidential campaign, CNN fired her as an on-air contributor, shattering Brazile’s reputation. Brazile is desperate to redeem her reputation by presenting herself as an honest and forthright person.

Reason No. 2: Revenge. Brazile expected Hillary and President Obama to come to her defense after she was caught leaking those CNN questions. But they didn’t. Brazile has never forgiven them for throwing her under the bus, and this is her payback.

Reason No. 3: Political Calculation. Brazile sees where the locus of power in the Democratic Party is shifting—away from establishment figures like Hillary and Obama and toward the Bernie Sanders wing of the party—and she’s trying to get on Sanders’ good side so she can be an influential voice in the party.

Reason No. 4: Greed. Brazile still hopes to get her lucrative TV gig back.

Bottom line: She’s Finished. “She’s ruined any future hope of being a player in Democratic politics,” Barack Obama told a close family friend. In short, Donna Brazile will never each lunch in Washington again.
