House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told fellow Democrats on Tuesday to avoid interrupting President Donald “slobbering self.” According to reports, Pelosi's marching orders for her caucus are: “Let the attention be on his slobbering self,” adding, “If you want to walk out, don’t come in.”

Pelosi admitted that any antics by Democrats in the Capitol chamber would only galvanize Trump's supporters. Currently, there are plans among Democrats to wear black to show their support for the feminist #MeToo movement, while members of the Black and Hispanic caucuses will also wear symbols alluding to their various causes. At least 12 Democrats have already announced that they will boycott the speech entirely.

Interrupting the proceedings on Tuesday night, Pelosi argued, would be fruitless. She reportedly said that Trump will be applauded for his remarks because expectations are set so low for him. “If his nose isn’t running and he isn’t burping, he did a great speech,” Pelosi said.
