NRA TV contributor and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino said Monday on Fox News that Barack Obama’s CIA director, John Brennan, is “panicking."

Brennan responded on Sunday to a tweet by President Donald Trump that demanded a Justice Department investigation into whether the department or the FBI meddled in his 2016 presidential campaign for "political purposes." Trump tweeted, “I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes - and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!”

Brennan said that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan will "bear major responsibility" for Trump’s "self-serving actions." Brennan wrote “If Mr. Trump continues along this disastrous path, you will bear major responsibility for the harm done to our democracy. You do a great disservice to our Nation & the Republican Party if you continue to enable Mr. Trump’s self-serving actions.”

Bongino told Fox & Friends on Monday, "John Brennan has disgraced himself, he's disgraced the country [and] he's disgraced the intelligence community." He said that Brennan is “responsible for the destruction of Americans' faith in the intelligence community." He went on to say that based on his investigation, he believes that the former CIA director is the "genesis" behind the entire investigation into the president that was based on an uncorroborated report commissioned by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and drafted by a former British intelligence agent.

Bongino said that Brennan is worried about his reputation and about "felonious criminal leaks." On Fox, Bongino said that Brennan once said he was aware of the salacious dossier that claimed that Trump once cavorted with prostitutes in Russia, but then denied knowing about it but also briefed the so-called Gang of Eight select members of Congress:

Under the "gang of eight" system, the executive branch of the United States discloses highly sensitive intelligence information to the following positions within the US congress:[6]
