Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Wednesday, President Donald Trump said it is "sad" to hear about the revelations that the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign produced an uncorroborated, salacious dossier about him in advance of the 2016 election. He said it is a "disgrace" and an embarrassment for Democrats, adding that it is a "sad commentary on politics in this country." Referring to the approval of the sale of an American uranium company to Russian interests by the Obama administration is the "modern-age" equivalent of the Watergate scandal. “It’s very sad what they’ve done with this fake dossier,” Trump said. “The Democrats always denied it. Hillary Clinton always denied it. I think it’s a disgrace. It’s a very sad commentary on politics in this country.”
