Tonight’s Republican presidential debate can be viewed on CNN. The debate begins at 8:30 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. PT) until 11:15 p.m. ET (8:15 p.m. PT). 
This will first presidential debate for either of the two parties since the terror attacks in Paris and San Bernardino. Currently, terrorism leads the list of interests among likely Republican voters. (See Spero coverage).

On December 12, survey results for Iowa showed that Sen. Ted Cruz is leading the pack of Republican candidates. According to the poll, Cruz now has 31% of the votes there while Donald Trump has dropped to 21.
 
However, a Washington Post/ABC New poll showed that, nationally, Trump is in the lead. Released on the day of the debate, the poll shows that Trump has 38 percent support from registered Republicans. For his part, support for Cruz has grown but his came in second at 15 percent.
