Reports are emerging that the shooting incident at First and Constitution Avenue in Washington DC near the Hart Senate Office Building may have been resolved. The lockdown in portions of the U.S., Capitol have now been called off. However, a police officer was seen on the steps of the U.S. Senate with a rifle trained directly at the crime scene.

Police on the scene can be seen milling about at the crime scene. A black automobile was seen stopped on a traffic median near the intersection of the above-named streets, following a car chase down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC from the White House with Secret Police in pursuit. This followed an attempt by the woman driving the vehicle to ram the northwest gate of the White House. It was at the Capitol that a police officer was apparently run over by the vehicle in question Police on the scene appear to be relaxed, giving rise to the theory that there is no longer an active crime scene.  Occupants of the Capitol and adjoining buildings are now leaving.

The female suspect has been transferred to a local hospital.
