“You're just talking about gun control, which is going to just give you more ratings," said Andrew Pollack to Fox News show host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.” Pollack is the father of slain Meadow Jade Pollack, who was among the 17 persons murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14. Ripping into the media over its coverage of the incident and subsequent gun control rallies, Pollack said that the media does not appear to focus on policies to address school safety.

"It's not going to be fixed because I just heard what you said, what you are focusing on, polarizing this event, the murder of these kids. You're talking about gun control," Pollack told Wallace on Sunday.

"You're just talking about gun control, which is going to just give you more ratings," Pollack said. "Today it's not about guns, it's about the safety in our schools. And that's what you ask Gov. Scott about and I got to listen to that at my house."

Last week, when Pollack was attending a listening session at the White House with President Donald Trump, he drew national attention for his emotional appeal for action in wake of the shooting. "I'm pissed because my daughter, I'm not going to see again," he said. "She's not here. She's at [a] cemetery, where I go to visit her now."

On the day of the shooting, a photo featuring Pollack wearing a pro-Trump t-shirt circulated widely, prompting some gun control advocates to criticize Pollack’s response to the shooting. A Twitter account bearing the name Leonard James posted a comment that read: "I'm unforgiveable, but it's a little hard to feel sorry who supported this administration and its racist and its NRA supporting policies. I feel sorry for daughter, but not for him. He probably doesn't make the connection between his party's policies and what happened to his child."
