The Naked Prey (1966)

Cornel Wilde's "The Naked Prey" earned Academy Award nominations for screenwriters Clint Johnson and Don Peters. Very loosely based on the life of  explorerJohn Colter, who was pursued by Blackfoot Indians in Wyoming in 1809, "The Naked Prey" takes place instead in Africa where a nameless guide leads a party of elephant hunters. When the hunters insult the locals, the hunt by the tribe ensues in the 1966 thriller.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)

Directed by Tim Burton, "Sleepy Hollow" stars Johnny Depp in the role of Ichabod Crane: a New York constable sent to investigate an unexplained series of murders in the town of Sleepy Hollow.

Mark Osborne's "The Little Prince" was to have had a theatrical release in March. Just days before the scheduled release, Paramount Pictures inexplicably dropped the film entirely. No Country for Old Men (2007)

Brothers Joel and Ethan Coen direct this thriller based on Cormac McCarthy's novel of the same name. Starring Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin, the film won four Oscars, two Golden Globes and appeared on more Top 10 lists than any other film in 2007. (Avail 8/11/16).

The Road (2009)

Also based on a Cormac McCarthy novel, John Hillcoat helms this tale of paternal love and care as a father and son set out on a journey for survival in a post-apocalyptic landscape. It is a brilliant and fascinating on sadness and the search for the will to survive in the face of impossible odds. Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee give memorable performances. (Avail 8/25/16).

Rams (2015)

A drama set in windswpet Iceland, the movie examines the relationship of two brothers who have not spoken to each other in 40 years, despite living next door to each other.
