In Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, police held a press conference on Monday in the wake of the release of a disturbing video that recorded an assault by a day care worker on a four-year-old child. A surveillance camera, newly installed at the Child Care of the Future Daycare Center, recorded how Sarah Gable shoved a girl down a flight of steps at the facility.
Just after shoving the child, Gable can be seen peering at the surveillance camera. The incident took place on March 3, according to local officials. The surveillance system was installed just half an hour before the assault.
Gable, 52, is a resident of nearby Folcroft. She has been charged with simple assault and child endangerment. However, at today’s press conference that they will seek charges of reckless endangerment. According to Upper Darby police, Gable did not make a statement and did not offer resistance. She was handcuffed and booked without incident.
While the child is back at the daycare, Child Care of the Future Daycare center has not yet released a statement at this time.
